To commemorate the 90th anniversary of the founding of the Communist Party of China (CPC), the commemorative cover, bearing the inscription of President Hu Jintao, General Secretary of the CPC Central Committee, went public on June 30 in Beijing's Great Hall of the People.
General Secretary Hu's inscription, printed in gold on the tastefully designed commemorative cover reads, "the 90th Anniversary of the Communist Party of China." The CPC Party Emblem appears on the back. The image on the commemorative envelop combines magnificent flowers and the words and music from the song Sing A Mountain Song to the Party, with the Party Emblem at its center, symbolizing the infinite love and deep feeling of people of all nationalities for the Party. The picture on commemorative cover is warm, solemn and artistically expressive.
National People's Congress Vice Chairman Lu Yongxiang, Chinese People's Political Consultative Conference Vice Chairman Huang Mengfu, Minister of the Ministry of Communications Li Shenglin and Vice Minister of the Publicity Department of the Central Committee of the CPC Shen Weichen unveiled the cover. Li Shenglin and the China Post Group President Liu Andong delivered speeches at the ceremony which Ma Junsheng, Director General of the State Post Bureau officiated. Cadres from related departments such as the Central Organization Department, Central Publicity Department, Ministry of Finance, Ministry of Communications, the State Post Bureau, and All-China Philatelic Federation, as well as responsible persons at institutes directly under China Post in Beijing gathered to celebrate the event.
Li Shenglin said in his speech that General Secretary Hu Jintao's inscription on the commemorative cover has far-reaching significance. Since the founding of the People's Republic of China, especially since reform and opening-up, China's communications endeavor, which includes those of China Post, has made great achievements and helped build the path of development with Chinese characteristics under the guidance of the Communist Party of China. China Post and the State Post Bureau jointly released a commemorative envelope on June 30 to celebrate the 90th founding anniversary of the Communist Party of China (CPC).
The front side features "the 90th anniversary of the founding of the Communist Party of China," which was written by President Hu Jintao, according to a statement released Thursday after the launch ceremony of the envelope.
A stamp of the CPC emblem is located at the top right corner, and at the bottom left is an image of flowers surrounding a portion of a score from a song paying tribute to the Party.
July 1 marks the 90th anniversary of the founding of the CPC.
