Vice Director Lv Jiajin receives the trophy on behalf of the Postal Savings Bank of China.
A cooperation project between the Postal Savings Bank of China and the Deutsche Gesellschaft für Technische Zusammenarbeit (GTZ) won on June 1, 2010 the GTZ Outstanding International Cooperation Award.
On April 2008, the Postal Savings Bank of China and GTZ signed a cooperation agreement under the framework of Sino-German government cooperation. It entailed the two sides compiling microfinance and retail banking service project teams to support the exploration and supply of Postal Savings Bank of China microfinance and retail banking services, with a view to expanding financial services to include low-income groups, rural areas, micro- and small companies.
The Postal Savings Bank of China has so far trained 20,000 loan officers, launched microfinance services in 4,301 second-level branches, issued 180 billion yuan in loans and met three million families' short-term financing needs.
The GTZ evaluated the 2,200 or more international cooperation projects competing for the award in 120 countries according to project results, publicity and social influence.
