Cuban Ambassador to China Carlos Miguel Pereira visited the Nanchang Post Bureau in south China's Jiangxi Province on December 7, 2010.
The Bureau's Director General Shi Hubin accompanied his visit and explained how the automatic parcel-letter sorting machines work and the procedure of handling mails.
General Manager of the Jiangxi Post Luo Guilin presented the commemorative envelopes written by 50 Chinese children and a piece of porcelain to the ambassador. In return, Carlos Miguel Pereira presented him a bottle of rum, known as Cuba's Name Card, and a biography titled Fidel Castro: My Life.
On the diplomatic commemorative envelope presented to Nanchang Post Bureau, Ambassador Carlos Miguel Pereira wrote, "Stamps link Cuba and China; long live the close friendship between us!"
The ambassador has just concluded his trip to Jiangxi Province's Jinggangshan City to attend the initiation ceremony of the commemorative stamps celebrating the 50th anniversary of Sino-Cuba diplomatic relations and visited the Sino-Cuba Stamp Exhibition on December 5.
He commented that the activities enhanced the cultural exchanges and did much to promote understanding between the two nations, as well as expanding bilateral economic and trade cooperation.
General Manager Luo Guilin expressed hope that the two sides would organize more exchange events in the future.
