The emblem of the Xi'an 2011 International Horticultural Exposition
The Xi'an 2011 International Horticultural Exposition opened in Xi'an on April 28, 2011. To commemorate the event, China Post issued Xi'an 2011 International Horticultural Exposition Commemorative Stamps. It is the second time for China Post to issue a postage certificate to commemorate this international event since the Kunming International Horticultural Exposition in 1999.
Xi'an 2011 International Horticultural Exposition Commemorative Stamps contain one edition and two stamps, picturing the event's emblem and mascot. The pictures, simple and concise, contain rich colors and vivid images, embodying good wishes. As is introduced, the design highlights the theme of the expo, "harmonious existence between men and nature", conveying a"green fashion" concept, and advocating a"low-carbon, simple and natural" lifestyle.
To coordinate with the stamp issuance, China Post, Shaanxi Post and Xi'an Post released Xi'an 2011 International Horticultural Exposition commemorative first-day cover, envelope, postcard and philatelic passport, as well as stamp collections of various features. These stamps can be used for souvenirs or self-collection.
