The postal bureaus in south China’s Guangxi Zhuang Autonomous Region and Hainan Province have been making great efforts to continue normal postal business after Typhoon Haiyan landed in these areas on November 10, 2013.

The official death toll in Hainan Province and the Guangxi Zhuang Autonomous Region rose to 10 on November 12, 2013, after the typhoon made landfall on the coast of southern China. Millions have been affected by the typhoon, according to the local civil affairs authorities.

The postal infrastructure in these areas was seriously damaged by the typhoon and many areas were out of power. However, postal staff members have been working hard to keep the post running.
