Beijing Post to Launch Chang'e-3 Moon Rover-themed Products2013-11-29The Beijing Post will collaborate with the Beijing Branch of the Industrial and Commercial Bank of China (ICBC) to issue Chang’e-3 moon rover-themed precious metal products decorated with the designs of stamps to mark the launch of the Chang’e-3 moon rover in early December this year.
The news was released at the signing ceremony of the strategic collaboration agreement between the Beijing Post and the Beijing Branch of ICBC, which was held in Beijing on November 13, 2013.
The launch of the new products will create a new model of collaboration which combines precious metals with postal products. The featured products will be sold at all ICBC business outlets throughout China.
According to the agreement, the Beijing Post and the Beijing Branch of ICBC will collaborate in twelve business fields, including credit, cash management, e-business, precious metal business, logistics and more.
The Chang’e-3 moon rover will be launched at southwest China’s Xichang Satellite Launch Center. The Chang’e-3 mission, which is called ‘Yutu’, is the second phase of China’s lunar program. It includes orbiting, landing, and returning to Earth.
According to the State Administration for Science, Technology and Industry for National Defense, the probe will practice soft-landing on the moon, explore the moon’s surface, and create a space engineering system for lunar patrolling. The rover will also send back 3-D images, infrared spectrum and lunar soil analysis.
