From November 11-20, 2013, Zhejiang Post delivered 1.59 million domestic packages, an increase of 397 percent compared with the same period last year, which accounted for 21 percent of China Post’s total domestic package business throughout the country during the period.
In addition, Zhejiang Post brought in revenue of 14.66 million yuan (US$ 2.4 million), an increase of 502 percent compared with the same period last year and accounting for 23 percent of China Post’s total revenue during that period.
November 11 is a date made up of four ones, and is considered a special day for single men and women in China. Five years ago, Internet retailer Alibaba began promoting it as a shopping festival, and it has now turned into the country’s busiest day for online retailers, millions of shopping lovers and thousands of couriers.
