Freight train No. 80601 of Zhengou International Railway Freight Trains – which is responsible for the transportation of international post between north, northeast, and east China and other countries in the world – began to use a new schedule on May 10, 2014 in which train No. 80601 will run twice each week between Zhengzhou, capital city of central China’s Henan Province, and Hamburg Railway Station in Germany.
The Zhengou International Railway Freight Train project was launched in July 2013, starting a ‘new silk road’ between China and Europe.
Since the international freight train project was launched, Henan Province Postal Express Delivery and Logistics Co. Ltd. has taken advantage of the international freight train project to develop a new channel for its international deliveries besides air freight and sea freight. This has enhanced the company’s international delivery capability with a comprehensive delivery network through air, sea and now trains on land.
