Zhao Mingcui has been a postal-worker for 18 years in mountainous Zengxi Township in northwest China's Shaanxi Province.

Zhao's father and sisters all work for the post office and she chose to follow in their footsteps. She is responsible for delivery to 14 villages, serving more than 7,000 people, cycling 92 km on her route, travelling to 4 villages in the mountains and 4 villages across the Hanjiang River, all while carrying a post-bag that weighs more than 100 pounds.

In order to deliver more quickly, Zhao even purchased three motorcycles and a boat to help her cross the Hanjiang River.

Many local people in the area have gone to cities to work, while many elderly people and children have been left behind. Zhao helps them pay bills and purchase goods, none of which is in her job description.
