The sports office division of China Post held a launch ceremony on December 27, 2014 in Beijing, where it unveiled a series of post card products themed on Beijing 2022: a joint bid by Beijing and bordering city Zhangjiakou for the 2022 Olympic Winter Games.
The ceremony also featured the launch of a campaign whereby all the citizens of Beijing are called on to write down, on special Olympic-themed post cards, their best wishes for the bidding. These cards with the citizens’ well wishes will be collected and sent to the Beijing 2022 Olympic Winter Games Bid Committee, for supporting their work in trying to secure the northern-China locale for the 2022 games. Later, China Post will launch the campaign throughout the entire country.
The Executive Board (EB) of the International Olympic Committee (IOC) has unanimously agreed that Beijing (China), Almaty (Kazakhstan) and Oslo (Norway) would progress from the Applicant City Phase to the Candidate City Phase in their bid to host the 2022 Olympic Winter Games.
