The China Post Group has greatly speeded up the delivery of its EMS (Express Mail Service) international packages, thanks to a new safety inspection area that officially came into service on July 13 at Beijing's Capital International Airport nearby Terminal 3.
The newly-built inspection area has been designed in accordance with strict security criteria and is equipped with the latest tech. The change is expected to reduce the processing time for EMS packages at the airport down to one or two hours.
Previously, the freight station used by the China Post Group was located at the Tianzhu Terminal Logistics Park in the city's Shunyi District and connected to the parking lot via a reserved freeway. However, the opening of Terminal 3 has put an end to the exclusive use of the former transportation facility, so a new area was needed.
