The denomination of each stamp is 1.2 yuan (U.S. $ 0.19). The latest stamps are illustrated with the Great Wall and white snow, which brings to the public an image of a snowy world.

The International Olympic Committee awarded the 2022 Winter Olympic Games to Beijing, after the final presentation held in Kuala Lumpur, capital city of Malaysia on the same day, making it the first city ever to host both the Summer and Winter Games. At the event, Beijing, along with Zhangjiakou City in north China's Hebei Province, edged out its competitor Almaty of Kazakhstan in a 44-40 close win.
