Vice General-Manager of China Post Group and President of Postal Savings Bank of China (PSBC) Lü Jiajin met on October 13 with a delegation led by International Business Machines Corporation (IBM) President Ginni Rometty in Beijing as the two sides discussed business cooperation in future.
Lü praised the achievements reached by IBM and PSBC in their cooperation in information technology and expressed his hope that IBM can continue to strengthen ties for mutual benefit with PSBC in science, technological innovation and the application of new technologies.
"Our ability in information technology is a core competence at the bank," said Lü. "PSBC is committed to promoting the rapid development of information technology, boosting the enterprise's transformation and development."
He also expressed his hope that IBM can apply leading-edge technology at PSBC.
Rometty said at the event that "IBM will strengthen the strategic partnership in products, services and application of new technology with PSBC, boosting the bank's transformation and business upgrade to provide better services for customers".
IBM is a multinational technology company headquartered in Armonk, New York, the United States, with operations in over 170 countries. The company originated in 1911 as the Computing-Tabulating-Recording Company and was renamed International Business Machines in 1924.
