China Post Vice General-Manager Zhang Ronglin met Afghanistan's Vice President Sarwar Danesh and President of the Bosnian Serb Republic Milorad Dodik at the 406-square-meter China Post Pavilion during the 16th Western China International Fair (WCIF) held in Chengdu Century City New International Convention and Exhibition Center from November 3-14 in southwest China's Sichuan Province.
Zhang described China Post's rural and cross-border e-commerce businesses and its service in problems concerning agriculture, rural areas and farmers to the foreign officials and invited them to sample China Post online sales at the exhibition.
Themed "Reform and Innovation", the China Post Pavilion introduced the achievements China Post has made through reform and innovation over its 120-year history with both photos and illustrations.
The China Post presence included the pavilion on problems concerning agriculture, rural areas and farmers, a rural e-commerce pavilion, and a cross-border e-business and experience pavilion. The effort included colorful activities such as lottery swipe codes, free postcard printing and tasting of fresh fruit and seafood.
Nearly 20 media outlets interviewed the China Post officials by November 7 as the number of visitors and customers at its pavilions surpassed 10,000.
"China Post is getting better and better," they said with emotion.
The WCIF was founded in May 2000 to implement China's Western China Development Strategy, choosing Chengdu City as its permanent site. This year 16 of the total 90 participating countries set up national pavilions, the largest number at a WCIF session. Nearly 9,000 famous enterprises from 75 countries and regions attend the fair.
Forums were held at the event focusing on industrial development, including emerging industries, general aviation, smart cars, e-commerce, panel displays and smart manufacturing.
