Attendees at the conference on January 23
China Post Group held a working conference in Beijing on January 23 to make a summary of its achievements in the 12th Five-Year Plan (2011-2015) and discuss its tasks in the ongoing 13th Five-Year Plan (2016-2020).
The conference also aimed to further the implementation of key points and instructions from Chinese President Xi Jinping's speeches at recent plenary sessions of the 18th Communist Party of China (CPC) Central Committee, and inspire postal staff to contribute to the construction of "Four Comprehensives" strategic blueprint (comprehensively build a moderately prosperous society, deepen reform, implement the rule of law, strengthen Party discipline).
At the gathering, Vice-Premier of China's State Council and member of the Political Bureau of the 18th CPC Central Committee, Ma Kai, praised China Post for its work in recent years, especially in the building of postal offices and the development of e-commerce in rural areas, and said that the enterprise was expected to make a further implementation of national policies regarding ongoing reform of state-owned firms and strive for higher performance this year.
"We have made necessary adjustments in our business operation over recent years, which ensure the completion of all set tasks. Meanwhile, top Chinese leaders have given key instructions on the further growth of our business," President of China Post Li Guohua noted in his speech at the meeting.
He added that the enterprise was poised to reach an annual gross revenue of 700 billion yuan (U.S. $ 106 billion), develop itself into one of the top two postal firms in the world, and help its employees benefit from its business performance by 2020.
Those present at the conference included officials from the Office of State Council, Ministry of Finance, National Development and Reform Commission, State Administration of Taxation and other governmental agencies in the capital city.
