President of Postal Savings Bank of China (PSBC) Lv Jiajin was named one of the 2016 Top Ten Economic Figures of the Year at an awards ceremony held in Beijing on January 10.
"As the youngest helmsman of a large commercial bank, Lv manages a big State-owned firm with assets of trillions. He promoted financial system reform and orientated PSBC's development without fear of questioning from outside world. He fulfilled the promise of a public listing, making PSBC the world’s largest IPO," said the judging panel at the awards ceremony.
In response Lv said "PSBC is a new large retail commercial bank. We will use this honor as motivation, deepen reform and provide better services for agriculture, rural areas and peasantry."
Themed "Selecting Prime Entrepreneurs", the campaign was jointly organized by Sina Finance, People's Daily and the Wu Xiaobo Channel.
Thirteen entrepreneurs were selected from thousands of candidates in traditional manufacturing, the Internet and other industries after two rounds of voting by netizens and evaluation by experts over the course of three months. Finalists won figure of the year awards or nomination honors.
