Vice-President of China Post Zhang Ronglin demonstrated the enterprise's e-commerce poverty alleviation work to Vice-Premier of the State Council Wang Yang at the 1st National Expo for New Farmers’ Entrepreneurship and New Technology Innovation in Suzhou, east China's Jiangsu Province on November 10.
Accompanied by Secretary of the Jiangsu Provincial Party Committee Lou Qinjian and Jiangsu Governor Wu Zhenglong, Wang fully affirmed China Post's achievements and expressed his hope that China Post continues making full use of its technology advantages to make a greater contribution to poverty alleviation.
The China Post pavilion showed the development of postal e-commerce platforms for rural areas as well as China Post Jiangsu's specific practices in helping rural innovation and entrepreneurship.
Taking poverty alleviation as its mission, China Post creates online e-commerce platforms that bring consumer products to the countryside and agricultural products to cities.
The group has built online shopping platforms and actively promoted rural e-commerce services to develop a rural e-commerce industry chain.
By the end of 2016, China Post had built more than 42,000 rural e-commerce service stations with total transactions reaching 150 billion yuan (U.S.$ 22.7 billion) since 2012. Two-way trade has been built between rural and urban areas, establishing the brand image of China Post Rural E-commerce.
China Post Jiangsu integrated the rural supply chain and agricultural industry resources, strengthened cooperation with local governments and partners, improved and perfected financial services, enhanced EMS delivery capacity and equalized public services in rural areas. The brand's projects of “Enriching Farmers” and “Shop Business” have become an important force in servicing agricultural and rural areas.
