On March 19, the Ministry of Veterans Affairs and 10 banks, including PSBC, signed a cooperation agreement on supporting the military personnel and veterans and giving preferential treatment in Beijing. Sun Shaocheng, Minister of Veterans Affairs, attended the signing ceremony. Qian Feng, Vice Minister of Veterans Affairs, and Zhang Xuewen, Vice President of PSBC, signed the agreement on behalf of each side respectively.
In his speech, Sun Shaocheng pointed out that Xi Jinping, General Secretary of the CPC Central Committee, emphasized in this year's New Year's Message that "military veterans, who have done much to keep the motherland safe, should be taken better care of.", which has provided a fundamental guideline for the work of supporting military personnel and veterans and giving them preferential treatment and assistance in the new era. The initiative taken by the banking sector in this aspect would not only generate a good response among veterans, but also have a wide impact and play a model role in the whole society. He hoped that all parties should make joint efforts to continuously introduce more and better services to benefit the recipients of preferential treatment, so as to create a sound social atmosphere for caring them.
According to the agreement, PSBC will give full play to its special role in supporting military personnel and veterans and giving them preferential treatment and assistance, and provide priority, high-quality and preferential service for military personnel and their families, demobilized military personnel and other beneficiaries of preferential treatment. These beneficiaries can apply for a special bank card at PSBC outlets with valid documents such as officer's ID cards, soldier's ID cards or demobilization certificates. PSBC will set up special counters in its outlets with priority signs for them, and open green channels to these special bank card holders for priority service. It will also exempt them from card cost, card annual fee, small account management fee, inter-bank transfer fee, and provide them with other personalized exclusive financial preferential services.
PSBC stated, taking the signing of the cooperation agreement as an opportunity and taking serving military veterans as a major political duty, it will further improve the financial services for veterans, explore new modes and ways of supporting military personnel and veterans and giving them preferential treatment in the new era, actively build its service brand in this field, and make positive contributions to building a stronger country and a stronger military force.
It is understood that PSBC actively shoulders the responsibilities of a large State-owned bank, earnestly fulfills its national defense obligations. Making the most of its network of nearly 40,000 outlets covering urban and rural areas, PSBC continuously provides high-quality financial service for military personnel and their families, veterans and other preferential treatment beneficiaries, and pays by proxy pension allowances for disabled military personnel, family members of martyrs, family members of military personnel deceased while on duty, the Red Army veterans, etc., and the amount of proxy payment ranks at the forefront of the banking industry.
