|With the approval of the State Council, the 10th Global Travel & Tourism Summit, under the theme "World's Leading Industry — Reaching New Frontiers," took place in Beijing from May 25 to 27, 2010. The event was co-hosted by China National Tourism Administration and the People's Government of Beijing Municipality, and organized by the World Travel & Tourism Council (WTTC). |
The prototypic of the picture on the stamp is the large-format painting, "Lotus"created in 2009 by Chinese noted painter Huang Yongyu for Rong Bao Zhai, a well-known traditional art shop in Beijing. The lotus flowers blooming in the glow of the rising sun symbolize the cooperation and prosperity in a harmonious society and imply a bright prospect for tourism as the world's leading industry.
