|Ever since its establishment, the Communist Party of China (CPC) had united and led people of all ethnic groups throughout the country in struggling hard for 28 years to realize national independence, the liberation of the people, and the founding of the People's Republic of China. An astonishing and magnificent epic in the human development was written on this ancient land of China where the CPC has left their glorious footprints. Jinggangshan, a mountainous city at the central section of the Luoxiao Mountains in western Jiangxi Province, was the first revolutionary base established in the rural areas. During the period from the autumn of 1927 through early 1929, Mao Zedong, Zhu De and other CPC leaders implemented the thought of "armed independent regime of workers and peasants" in the base area, kindling the spark of the Chinese revolution. The struggle in the revolutionary base explored the correct development path of the Chinese revolution, and Jinggangshan has thus been recognized as the cradle of the Chinese revolution. |
