The Chinese People’s Association for Friendship with Foreign Countries, founded on May 3, 1954, is a national people’s organization engaged in people-to-people diplomacy of the People’s Republic of China. The aims of the Association are to enhance people’s friendship, further international cooperation, safeguard world peace and promote common development. Over the past six decades, on behalf of the Chinese people, it has deepened friendship with various countries around the world, carried out comprehensive and multi-level people-to-people exchange in various areas, and worked hard for the cause of human progress and solidarity. The painting on the stamp, Ode to Peace, was originally created by 14 renowned Chinese painters including Qi Baishi for the 1955 World Peace Congress, which symbolizes Chinese people’s support and praise for peace.
