The 18th Journalists' Day fell on November 8, 2017.
China Youth Journalists Association (CYJA), predecessor of the All-China Journalists Association (ACJA), was founded on November 8, 1937.
The ACJA suggested to designate this day as Journalists' Day in 1999, which was approved by the State Council on the following August 1.
Since then, Chinese journalists had their own holiday.
The Party and the government have always attached great importance to the development of journalism.
In addition, General Secretary Xi Jinping has made important speeches to support and encourage the healthy development of journalism since the 18th CPC National Congress, which has created a positive environment for the development of Chinese news media and journalists.
