The 2018 Cross-Strait Postal Development Symposium was held in Nanjing, capital of east China's Jiangsu Province, on November 9, 2018. The conference reviewed the implementation of the postal agreement between the two sides of the Taiwan Straits since its signing, and discussed the innovative development of postal enterprises in the digital era.
Vice President of the Cross-Strait Postal Exchange Association Zhao Xiaoguang presided over the symposium.
Deputy Secretary-General of Jiangsu Government Yang Yong, Deputy Director-General of the State Post Bureau of the People's Republic of China Zhao Min, President of China Post Group Liu Aili and other leaders attended the opening ceremony and gave speeches.
“Cross-strait postal enterprises should follow the trend of historical development, continue to make use of industry advantages, strengthen business cooperation, participate in the “Belt and Road” Initiative, and play an active role in cross-strait economic and trade cooperation,” said Liu.
He spoke in favor of strengthening cross-strait postal business cooperation and continuing to promote cross-strait postal exchanges in his speech.
Vice President of China Post Group Zhang Ronglin and Assistant President of Chunghwa Post Co., Ltd Guo Chunyang gave closing speeches at the event.
Eighty-five leaders and experts from the Taiwan Affairs Office of the State Council and the postal industry across the Taiwan Strait participated in the event as well as Vice President of China Post Group Li Xiong.
