A National Philatelic Essay Collection Award Ceremony on the 40th Anniversary of the Reform and Opening-up policy opened in north China's Shanxi Province on November 15, 2018.
The book “Forty Years of Postal Information” was presented at the event, and featured a collection of the award-winning works.
To celebrate the 40th anniversary of its reform and opening-up policy, the All-China Philatelic Federation organized a series of philatelic cultural activities nationwide to collect philatelic essays. The activity reviewed the historical process of the reform and opening-up, encouraged citizens to strengthen their confidence in the Chinese culture and aimed to realize the great rejuvenation of the Chinese nation and Chinese Dream.
Philatelic enthusiasts told their colorful philatelic stories in their works, expressing their ideals, beliefs and love for a better life. Their works were full of love for the cause of socialist philatelic culture with Chinese characteristics, and vividly reflected the development and changes in the Chinese philatelic industry over the past 40 years.
Since its launch in March 2018, a total of 246 articles from 28 provinces (municipalities and districts), three industry philatelic associations and some authors have been shortlisted.
After an evaluation by the judges, 10 first prizes, 20 second prices, 30 third prizes and 40 commemorative prizes were awarded. Sixteen provincial philatelic association and trade associations which had selected the works, also received recognition.
