The 7th Asian Pacific Postal Union (APPU) Postal Business Forum, with the theme of “Exploring New Frontiers -- Reshaping the Postal Industry,” opened in Bangkok, Thailand, on November 27, 2018.
Deputy Director-General of the Universal Postal Union (UPU) International Bureau Pascal Clivaz participated in the event as well as representatives from more than 20 member countries in the Asia-Pacific region, and more than 100 representatives from international postal companies, DHL, related enterprises and organizations.
Zhang Ronglin, deputy managing director of China Post Group, was invited to lead a delegation to attend the forum. He delivered a keynote speech titled “Bringing the Driving Forces of Innovation Together and Opening a New Chapter in Development.”
The attendees expressed their appreciation for the effectiveness of China Post's reform and its application of new technology.
Zhang introduced a series of recent reforms and innovative measures of China Post in his speech. “Based on mail, finance and rural e-commerce business, China Post will vigorously promote scientific and technological innovation and application, work with postal enterprises in other countries, and constantly promote the core competitiveness of the postal industry,” he said.
Zhang also attended the CEO Forum at the event. He discussed the development of postal science and technology with high-level delegates, the diversification of postal business and the future development of the postal industry at the forum.
The APPU awarded the first APPU Regional Awards and China Post won the Best Sustainability Project or Initiative Award, the Best Corporate Video, Website or Brand Building Award and Honorable Mention of the Best Corporate Social Responsibility Project or Initiative Award.
