A double-deck automatic parcel sorting machine was put into operation at Jinan Post District Central Bureau, in east China's Shandong Province, on January 16, 2019.

The machine's processing efficiency is 54,000 parcels per hour and the daily processing capacity is 1.1 million parcels. Thus, the bureau can sort more than 2 million parcels per day, making it the largest package processing center in Shandong.

It thus promotes the high-quality development of e-commerce, logistics and express business in Shandong.

Jinan Post District Central Bureau is responsible for the centralized sorting and delivery of mail in 16 cities of Shandong Province, as well as mail transfer and transportation in East China, North China and Northeast China.

It owns a fleet of more than 200 postal vehicles, has 35 inter-provincial direct postal routes, 600 vehicles that arrive and depart daily, and offers direct transport in 30 key cities in 23 provinces across the country.

The bureau's average daily mail handling capacity has reached 830,000, and it ranks number one in efficiency in China's postal system.
