The Chinese lunar new year fell on February 4 in 2019. China Post Shanxi launched a public welfare activity themed “Special Tickets for Tens of Thousands of People Returning Home for the New Year” in northwest China's Shanxi Province in January.

Shanxi migrant workers who work in other cities of the province could get free tickets with their ID cards to return to their hometowns from the end of January to the beginning of February 2019, which are postcards, as long as their advance booking was successful.

These workers could take the bus at Taiyuan West Coach Station with the postcards and return to their hometowns.

“Our cars make about 20 trips a day, with two postal staff serving as colleagues on each bus. We have escorted more than 10,000 people back home by now,” said Wang Yongmei, deputy manager at the Customer Marketing Center of China Post Shanxi.

The branch has organized the activity for three consecutive years.
