| China Post |2019-03-11

China Post Group and the National Afforestation Committee jointly held a ceremony on March 11 in Beijing, marking the 40th anniversary of the Tree Planting Day and the issuance of the first commemorative stamp on the same subject, and a cooperation framework agreement was signed on the spot. Present at the ceremony were chief leaders of both parties: Liu Dongsheng, member of the National Afforestation Committee and deputy director of the National Forestry and Grassland Bureau; Dai Yingjun, deputy director of the State Post Bureau; Li Pizheng, deputy secretary of the Party Committee of China Post Group; Zhang Ronglin, deputy managing director of China Post Group; and Hu Zhangcui, deputy director of the National Afforestation Committee Office.

Through this cooperation, both parties aim to fully implement the policies and plans of the CPC Central Committee on pollution prevention and control as well as afforestation. Taking the 40th anniversary of the National Tree Planting Day as an opportunity, and through the issuance of the commemorative stamps and advocacy of voluntary tree planting, they also aim to foster a public concept of ecological conservation and steer all sectors of society to participate in the land greening campaign.

The two parties will also jointly launch a “Green Construction” initiative. They will work together to construct “Green Post Offices”, building the postal outlets into a shared platform for gathering social force to participate in afforestation. They will build “Green Routes”, turning the postal routes into a channel of displaying afforestation achievements. They will also cooperate in the cultivation of “Green Messengers”, developing the postal staff into messengers of spreading notions of ecological conservation and promoting voluntary tree planting. In this way, the afforestation awareness will be brought to thousands of households, thus creating a good atmosphere of planting trees, cherishing trees and protecting trees in the whole country.

Taking this opportunity and the advantage of its own distribution, finance and information network, China Post Group will continue to explore and establish a comprehensive strategic partnership with the National Afforestation Committee and the National Forestry and Grassland Administration, thereby fully implementing the Green Development Concept, pushing ahead with the construction of a Green Post, shouldering the responsibilities of a State-owned enterprise, and striving to become a guardian of an ecological environment and a builder of a green brand.
