| China Post |2019-04-23

On April 18, with the theme “Displaying the beauty of stamps, gathering friends from all over the world”, the aligned regional promotional campaign for China 2019 World Philatelic Exposition was launched in Chengdu, Sichuan province.

In order to further spread the knowledge of the world philatelic exposition and promote the 2019 Exposition, the aligned regional  promotional campaign has adopted the “1+9” metropolitan area radiation model, in which 1 represents a provincial capital and 9 refers to 9 neighboring cities designated by each province (municipality). The campaigns are held synchronously in 70 cities of the 7 provinces (municipality), namely, Tianjin, Jiangsu, Zhejiang, Hubei, Guangdong, Sichuan and Shaanxi.

On that very day, in Chengdu, Sichuan province, various activities were carried out at Panda Post Office, with the theme that Bin Bin, the mascot, and Panda YOYO welcome the 2019 World Philatelic Exposition. In addition, special postcards were designed for this campaign by the Panda Post Office and released on the spot. In Tianjin, “lucky draw & award-winning quiz” activities were launched in some postal outlets, with the plush toys of the 2019 World Philatelic Exposition mascots as the awards.

In Shaanxi province, philatelic activities began to be brought into college campuses. On April 19, a philatelic exhibition was conducted at Women’s College of Xi'an Peihua University. Well-known travel agencies were invited to customize for stamp enthusiasts of Shaanxi province some special tourist routes of the World Philatelic Exposition in June so that more people may go to see the Exposition in Wuhan, Hubei province.

In Zhejiang province, a philatelic exhibition tour was held at the West Lake Museum in Hangzhou, where a special area was set up to exhibit and sell philatelic products, especially Hangzhou-featured theme products. Meanwhile, a prepaid envelope and a commemorative postmark were specially designed and produced for this campaign, and on the spot stamp collectors who bought the envelope can get the postmark stamped for free. In Jiangsu province, a thematic philatelic exhibition was held, attracting a large number of philatelists. In Guangdong province, a quiz game was held on site.
