“Sweet and fair, she craves not spring for herself alone. To be the harbinger of spring she is content.” On April 20, the 39^th National Best Stamps Awards Ceremony was held in Kunming, Yunnan. At the ceremony, the results of 2018 “Best Stamps”, “Excellent Stamps”, “Best Printing” and “Best Design” awards chosen through public appraisal were announced”, and awards were presented to the winners.

Today, the second edition of The Philatelic History of China will officially pass for press. The book will enter the Philatelic Literature Competition of the 2019 World Philatelic Expo on behalf of China. With “South of the Colorful Clouds, City of Spring” as the main theme, the Best Stamps Award Ceremony is sponsored by the following organizations: All-China Philatelic Federation, People’s Daily, CCTV, China National Philatelic Corporation, Postage Stamp Printing Bureau of China Post Group, China Postal Culture and History Center, Workers Daily, China Youth Daily, People’s Posts and Telecommunications Press, People’s Posts and Telecommunications News; the same ceremony was organized by Yunan Postal Branch of China Post Group and Yunan Philatelic Society. The title sponsorship is solely offered by Yunan Salt Industry Company Ltd. Celebrities and distinguished guests in the philatelic circle and other philatelists from all over the country gathered in Kunming—the spring city—for the grand event.

The 40^th Best Stamps Award Ceremony will be held in Dunhuang, Gansu, in 2020. Therefore, the flag handover ceremony is held on the spot.

In addition, China 2019 World Philatelic Expo will be held in Wuhan, Hubei, from 11 to 17 June. This is the 3^rd time for China to host the event after 1999 and 2009. At the awarding ceremony, Liu Ziqing, Vice Mayor of Wuhan, extended his invitation for the World Philatelic Expo.

At this grand event, China National Philatelic Corporation designed special products in accordance with local features of Yunan province to share the cultural feast with the public. Meanwhile, at the Jin’gang Tower Square of Guandu ancient town in Kunming, Yunnan, a series of exciting cultural activities were held, including the “Best Stamps” post office, stamp exhibition, celebrity signings, special product issuance, theme post office, salons and dancing miracles among others. At the site, ethnic and folk culture exhibition was also conducted; and postal services, such as displaying postal products, selling and stamping commemorative postmarks, mailing parcels, etc. were provided.
