On the afternoon of June 11, the debut ceremony of the new book Seven-decade Stamp Evolution in New China and the collection of The Postage Stamps of the People's Republic of China (1949-2019) was held. Luo Shuzhen, Vice Minister of the former Ministry of Posts and Telecommunications and former President of the All-China Philatelic Federation, and Kang Ning, Vice President of China Post Group attended the issuance ceremony and unveiled the new book.
The book Seven-decade Stamp Evolution in New China systematically summarized the achievements of the stamp issuance made by new China from the perspectives of issuance, subject selection, design and printing, and vividly presented the evolution during the 7 decades of new China. With the publication of the book, China National Philatelic Corporation has planned and developed a collection of The Postage Stamps of the People's Republic of China (1949-2019). The collection contains 13 volumes, totaling more than 7000 pieces of New China stamps. It presents a comprehensive and three-dimensional picture of the great history of P.R. China over the past 70 years. This collection is a systematic review of the philatelic culture and the first complete collection of stamps issued by the philatelic section of China Post; therefore it has a strong historical and collectible significance.
At the ceremony, Liu Jianhui, one of the authors of the book, former Director of related department of the State Post Bureau and Managing Director of the All-China Philatelic Federation, made relevant introductions and conducted an on-site signing. “This book presents a panoramic view of the 7-decade stamp issuance in New China from an objective and fair perspective. Having adopted many latest research findings, it will play a positive role in the development of China's philatelic industry.” Liu Jianhui told the reporter.
