China Post provides quality service at the second China International Import Expo
| China Post |2019-11-06

On November 5th, the 6-day second China International Import Expo (CIIE) officially kicked off at the Shanghai National Exhibition and Convention Center. As the designated delivery service provider and core support enterprise of the CIIE for this year, China Post has become one of the highlights representing the upgraded service quality of this expo.

In order to serve this year's expo, Shanghai Postal Branch has done a lot of meticulous preparations in the early stage. The delivery service of about 500,000 certificates of CIIE is quite a complex work project. In addition to meeting the high standard mailing requirements of EMS mails for the VIP customers, China Post should also consider the personalized delivery requirements of the CIIE Bureau. Thanks to the strong support and professional guidance of China Post Group, and after repeated consultations with the CIIE Bureau, Shanghai Postal Branch rolled out the professional “one-stop” service in terms of processes like the handover of certificates, information collection, mail collection, dispatching and forwarding, escorted transportation, proactive customer service, and information feedback. In the meantime, two workplaces were set up to serve as the certificate sorting area and the registration and certificate management center, which were equipped with 10 operating seats, 2 customer service seats, 3 customer service hot lines and 2 technology support seats. Shanghai Postal Branch called together 50 able staff members from the postal outlets across the whole city to build up a professional service team. They worked until 2 am each day, vowing to provide fast, accurate, safe and convenient first-class delivery service for the second CIIE Expo, and to assist the expo in upgrading the service quality under the guideline of “the highest standards, the strictest measures, the strongest control, and the best service".

With the approaching of the opening of the expo, in addition to providing delivery service, Shanghai Postal Branch also promoted and showcased actively the power and responsibility of China Post serving as the “national team” in the courier industry by deploying large outdoor postal billboards, LED videos, fence billboards, and hanging banners that could be seen everywhere inside and outside the exhibition hall, which has brought a lot of "postal surprises" to the friends from the world.

Shanghai Postal Branch dispatched a 200-person on-site service team to the expo, and set up 9 postal service points in the venues and office buildings, of which 5 service points were responsible for product sales and the other 4 provided product sales, mail collection, and delivery service. Through the laying out of the certificate delivery area, postal distribution point, business center service station, China Post parcel lockers and extensional collection area, the five on-site service channels have truly realized the full coverage of the venues and the comprehensive all-around collection service.

At 8 o'clock on November 5, the temporary post office set up near the liveliest news center of the expo saw the bustling crowds of guests queuing up in the postal outlet. A large number of media reporters and working staff from other units inside the hall also came here. They simply rushed for a sight of and purchased some of the CIIE philatelic products such as commemorative envelopes, postcards and stamps to commemorate this moment eternally.

One postal clerk working on site said that the most popular philatelic product of the day was the "Highlight Moments" commemorative set, which consisted of the sterling silver four-leaf clover badge, stamps on the 70th anniversary of the founding of the People’s Republic of China and stamps on the CIIE. The temporary post office also used franking machines to provide colorful and the black and white postmarks, and offered personalized stamp designing services for the visitors, which were highly praised by the customers. By the time of about 10 o'clock, all commemorative envelopes at the postal points were sold out. Nearly 200,000-yuan (about $28,560) worth of CIIE philatelic products were sold on the day of 5th. The service staff in the hall also made registrations for each customer who failed to purchase these precious philatelic products on the spot, and assured them the in-time delivery to doors after the stock replenishment.

As of November 5th, the number of CIIE certificates delivered via postal channels totaled at 491,165. Since the holding place of the second CIIE belongs to Qingpu District, Qingpu District Postal Subbranch always maintained a high sense of responsibility, implemented the proactive customer service, made the daily service quality list, ensured the “last mile” service quality in terms of the whole transportation network, and strived to fulfill the glorious mission honored by the CIIE Bureau.

The CIIE service team from Shanghai Postal Branch presents strong spiritual outlook.
