In Baiwanzhuang branch office, Yang Chuantang and his entourage first watched the promo video on China Post’s Green Initiative. In 2018, China Post took the lead in launching the go-green campaign, making systematic arrangements for the projects of green packaging, green transportation and green finance, and issued a three-year plan for the green initiative, going all out to deepen going green, striving to address pollution in packaging and transportation and supporting pollution prevention and control in the whole society. According to Li Pizheng, China Post has established a green packaging innovation laboratory and strengthened the innovation and research in green packaging technology. Yang Chuantang recognized the efforts of China Post in this aspect.

At the counter of Baiwanzhuang branch office, Yang Chuantang carefully examined the specifications and quality of the tape-free packing box, and asked about the details of how to use the tape-free box and the application of other green packing boxes and narrow tapes. He also learned about China Post’s recycling program in front of the recycling bins of packaging waste and electronic waste. At the subsequent video conference held by the State Post Bureau, Yang Chuantang listened to their report on the preparation for the “Double 11” peak season. Firstly, he demanded, the postal express industry should shoulder its missions and responsibilities, striving to push ahead with the high-quality development of the industry. It should give full play to the unique advantages of the industry in driving logistics transformation and promoting consumption upgrading, pushing forward innovative, secure and green development. Secondly, postal express industry should make all-out efforts to ensure the smooth operation during “Double 11" peak season. All the related companies should improve their work plans, prepare in advance, maximize their resources, strive to achieve a balance of the supply chain, and effectively improve the processing capacity in the transit links and the delivery capacity of the last mile. Thirdly, the express delivery industry should accelerate its steps in green development. Reduced, green and recyclable packaging should be promoted in the whole process of packing and delivery of the ecommerce products. Green transportation should be extended, and supervision on green development should be enhanced. Fourthly, the postal express industry should focus on preventing and mitigating delivery security risks. Safety is always the top priority for delivery service. Therefore, the responsibilities of the express companies, industrial supervision and localized administration must be further strengthened. Safety management systems must be put into effect, and risk prevention and control measures must be refined and implemented. The postal express industry should give full play to the role of joint security supervision mechanism, push forward inter-departmental information exchange and sharing, and guarantee the safety and smooth of the delivery channels.
