China Post Group and PSBC donate 50 million yuan for the battle against the epidemic
| China Post |2020-01-26

On January 26, promptly implementing the latest instruction of the CPC Central Committee on the prevention and control of novel coronavirus pneumonia (NCP) epidemic, China Post Group Co., Ltd. (hereafter referred to as China Post Group) studied the situation once again and made further plans for the epidemic prevention and control within the whole postal system so as to help to win the battle against the epidemic. China Post Group and the Post Savings Bank of China (PSBC) decide to donate 50 million yuan (over $7.14 million) to Wuhan, the capital city of central China’s Hubei Province, to support its campaign against the NCP epidemic. Of the donation, China Post Group contributes 20 million yuan (about $2.85 million) and PSBC contributes 30 million yuan (about $4.29 million).

Since the outbreak of the NCP epidemic, the Leading Party Members' Group of China Post Group Co., Ltd. has attached great importance to it. Heads of China Post branches at all levels assume the overall responsibility, follow the unified command and arrangement of relevant national authorities, Party committees and governments at all levels as well as supervision departments and strengthen localized responsibility of epidemic prevention and control at all levels, taking the epidemic prevention and control as the most important work at present and resolutely preventing the transmission and spread of the epidemic. To this end, China Post has reinforced the epidemic prevention and control on postal and banking premises, and attached much importance to the combination of epidemic control and service guarantee. These places are equipped with masks, hand sanitizers, disinfectants, temperature testers and other safety protection articles. The premises, supplies and appliances are comprehensively disinfected. Business outlets and windows are reasonably rearranged. Epidemic prevention and control measures for clerks and customers are strengthened. At the same time, China Post vigorously publicizes the knowledge of epidemic prevention and control, and strictly implements the emergency duty and "zero reporting" system of the epidemic. It also strives to improve employees’ safety awareness and step up precautions, intensifies its care for employees, and enhances the awareness of disease prevention and social confidence among employees and customers.

In the face of the epidemic, China Post keeps in mind its original aspiration and mission of serving the people and shoulders its responsibility as the "national team". On January 25, China Post released an announcement to urgently open a national green channel and to provide free transportation and distribution services for donated materials sent from all over China to the Red Cross organizations designated by Wuhan municipal government.

To ensure the orderly implementation of all its work, PSBC immediately issues the risk warning against the NCP, formulates its emergency plan, and strengthens collaborative prevention and control with different measures such as financial service guarantee, financial technology support and so on. Meanwhile, PSBC comprehensively strengthens financial support for new-built or designated medical institutions in areas hard-hit by the virus, fully supports the credit needs of the enterprises engaging in scientific research and production of drugs, medical devices and related materials needed for the epidemic prevention and control, and opens green approval channels and increase support for credit approval projects concerning epidemics. While providing excellent service in business outlets, PSBC also strengthens the service and publicity of online transaction channels such as mobile banking and online banking, and actively guides customers to give preference to electronic channels, thereby meeting the customers’ financial service needs.

From now on, PSBC will open green channels in postal financial outlets nationwide, and handle for free the donations to the Red Cross Society of China and the China Charity Federation through postal remittance service. At the same time, it will take special measures to provide services such as account opening and funds clearing for the Red Cross Society, the Charity Association as well as special accounts for the procurement of prevention and control emergency materials to ensure accuracy and efficiency. PSBC will also provide special guarantee for the transfer of the funds donated through mobile banking and personal online banking, and transfer all kinds of donations in a timely manner.
