At 10:59 on February 7, under the guidance of the mail truck from Hubei postal branch, a mail truck from Zhejiang postal branch pulled into Jiutong Haiyuan Hotel, located in the East Lake High-tech Development Zone, where the emergency medical team from Zhejiang Province is stationed. The shipment is the Li-ALS (Li's artificial liver system) therapy equipment and related consumables. Li Lanjuan, the academician in charge of the medical team, rushed out to participate in the material reception. She said to the driver, "The postal express is fast and of high service quality. You came all the way here overnight. Thank you!"

Li Lanjuan leads the Zhejiang emergency medical team to fight against the novel coronavirus pneumonia (NCP) epidemic in Renmin Hospital of Wuhan University (East Campus). To meet the demand of the medical team in treating NCP patients, the First Affiliated Hospital of Zhejiang University sent one set of Li-ALS therapy equipment and related consumables to the medical team through the postal channel. It is understood that Li's artificial liver technology has played an important role in fighting against human infection with H7N9 avian influenza. This time, it will be used for the treatment of critical NCP patients. Meanwhile, the medical team will also promote the application of Li's artificial liver technology among local medical workers to improve the local treatment capacity of critically ill patients. To ensure the safe delivery of the important medical equipment quickly to the medical team, Zhejiang Postal Branch and Hubei Postal Branch worked together seamlessly and completed the task overnight.
On the afternoon of February 6, a mail truck pulled into the First Affiliated Hospital of Zhejiang University and stopped in front of Building 17. In the drizzle, the staff of the post and the hospital carefully moved the large boxes containing medical supplies into the mail truck. Chen Qing, Secretary of Party Committee and General Manager of Zhejiang Postal Branch, Qiu Yunqing, Deputy Director of the First Affiliated Hospital and Shao Zhexin, Deputy Secretary of Party Committee of the First Affiliated Hospital, were present at the scene.
Chen Qing attached great importance to the task. He required that the logistics branch and operation management department should treat the equipment as special mail, and provide tracking during the whole process to ensure transport security. The delivery was offered free of charge according to the requirements of the green channel. The best drivers with excellent ideological quality and driving skills were selected for the delivery.
After loading the vehicle, Shao Zhexin, Deputy Secretary of Party Committee of the First Affiliated Hospital, on behalf of the hospital, presented the drivers with two sets of medical protective clothing. He repeatedly expressed thanks and stressed, "This is lifesaving equipment!" Chen Qing said, "Please rest assured. Just tell us your needs and we guarantee to do our best to meet them!" He continued, "We have made full preparations. The truck will arrive in Wuhan in a few hours. We can ensure that the equipment will be given to Academician Li in Wuhan at the earliest time."
Wang Xiaohua, a driver with 21 years of driving experience, and Luo Donghu, a driver from the Mail Center of Hangzhou Postal District, were responsible for the task. At 5 p.m., they packed some food, jumped into the truck and drove out of Kanshan Mail Center in Hangzhou. It is 1111 kilometers from Hangzhou to Wuhan. Through the sleepless night, Wang Xiaohua and Luo Donghu drove all the way to Wuhan.
At the other end, the staff members of the Mail Center of Wuhan Postal District, Hubei Province, have also made all preparations for receiving the mail. The command and dispatch center of the Mail Center of Wuhan Postal District made arrangements for special personnel to monitor and track the vehicle, plan the docking in advance and coordinate the relevant procedures for the entry of non-local trailer into Wuhan city.
At 9 a.m., February 7, the mail truck from Zhejiang arrived at the Mail Center of Wuhan Postal District. To ensure that the important supplies arrive on time, the Mail Center of Wuhan Postal District skipped the normal transfer process and sent one of its mail trucks to guide the mail truck from Zhejiang directly to Renmin Hospital of Wuhan University (East Campus).
At 10 o 'clock, the mail truck arrived at the destination safely. Postal employees and Li Lanjuan’s team checked off and handed over the items.
At 10:55, all the supplies for epidemic prevention were delivered successfully. Zhejiang and Hubei Postal Branches closely cooperated and sent materials through the green channel directly to the epidemic prevention front line. Fighting against the epidemic hand in hand, the two postal branches overcame difficulties and fulfilled the task successfully.
