By March 5, 242 poor counties in 15 out of 22 provinces (autonomous regions and municipalities) in central and western China have announced that poverty in these areas has been eradicated. And all poor counties in 10 provinces (autonomous regions and municipalities) including Shaanxi Province have been lifted out of poverty. Among them are Shangzhou District and Luonan County of Shangluo City, Shaanxi Province—the fixed-point poverty alleviation areas of China Post Group Co., Ltd..

Since the implementation of fixed-point poverty alleviation, China Post has thoroughly carried out the decisions and plans of the central government on winning the battle against poverty. Focusing on freeing people from worries over food and clothing and guaranteeing their access to compulsory education, basic medical treatment and safe housing, China Post has implemented six major projects, namely, poverty alleviation through Party building, industrial development, e-commerce, financial services, insurance and education. It has innovated three distinctive poverty alleviation models, including e-commerce plus Internet, industrial development plus Technology and education plus employment, so as to promote the transformation of local poverty alleviation from relying on outside support to self-reliance, from simply offering materials to helping people increase confidence in their own ability to eradicate poverty and guaranteeing their access to the education they need to do so. In 2019, China Post invested a total of 10.31 million yuan (over 1.45 million US dollars) in poverty alleviation, which helped lift 15,000 people in more than 6,200 households out of poverty, contributing greatly to the poverty alleviation in Shangzhou District and Luonan County of Shangluo City. By the end of 2019, these two areas of Shangluo city had achieved the goal of poverty alleviation one year ahead of schedule. Over the past 20 years, China Post has cumulatively invested more than 59 million yuan (over 8.32 million US dollars) in the special funds for poverty alleviation in Shangluo City and lifted more than 38,000 poverty-stricken people in the two areas of Shangluo City out of poverty, benefiting more than 400,000 people.

This is the concluding year for securing the victory of building a moderately prosperous society in all respects. China Post will continue to carry out the important discourses of General-Secretary Xi Jinping on poverty alleviation, comprehensively implement the decisions and plans of the central government, and carry on the fixed-point poverty alleviation work in accordance with the requirements of the central government and the priorities of the local government. Taking its advantages in e-commerce, finance, insurance and education resources, China Post will continue its key poverty alleviation projects with unremitting efforts and unchanged policies. This year, China Post plans to invest 10 million yuan (about 1.41 million US dollars) in fixed-point poverty alleviation, and carry out seven types of poverty alleviation projects through Party building, industrial development, education, e-commerce, financial services, insurance and ecological livability promotion, further expanding and consolidating its achievements in poverty alleviation, and continuously synchronizing poverty alleviation with the rural vitalization.
