On the morning of May 4, the first “China Post” block train for China Railway Express (hereinafter referred to as CR Express) (Yiwu-Vilnius) departed from Yiwu West Station, carrying 50 containers with over 353.77 metric tons of items collected from Zhejiang, Shanghai, Jiangsu, Fujian and Shandong provinces (municipalities). It is expected to arrive in Lithuania 13 days later, and then the items will be distributed to 36 European countries such as Spain, France, Germany and Switzerland, etc.

This special train to Lithuanian is the second new channel opened for China Post’s international mail transportation in Yiwu within one month after CR Express (Yiwu- Malaszewicze). It is currently the block train with the most extensive collection spots, the longest mileage and the largest number of containers. It enables Yiwu to become the first county (city) in China with the largest number of block trains transporting mail, marking that Yixinou (Yiwu-Xinjiang-Europe) International Railway has become an important channel for railway mail transportation from China to Europe.

With the support of Yiwu Market Development Committee, China Railway Shanghai Group Co., Ltd., Shanghai branch of China Railway Container transport Corp., Ltd. and YXE Trading Service Group, the postal branch of Yiwu City gives full play to the “artery” function of China-Europe freight trains (Yiwu-Xinjiang-Europe) in mail transportation, studies and formulates feasible solutions, solves existing difficulties and bottleneck problems, and makes careful arrangements to push forward the project of “China Post” special train for CR Express (Yiwu-Vilnius), so as to deliver necessary materials and daily necessities to the enterprises and the people along the China-Europe international railway and bring confidence to related countries for their resumption of economy and production.
