Postage stamp, the national business card, is helping to promote the Silk Road spirit and people-to-people bond. On November 23, the “Belt and Road” themed stamp exhibition, co-hosted by China Post Group Corporation Limited (China Post Group), the Silk Road Think Tank Association, and All-China Philatelic Federation, organized by China Postal Culture and History Center (China National Post and Postage Stamp Museum), opened in the main gallery on the second floor of the Museum and will be permanently open to the public for free.
Since the Belt and Road Initiative (BRI) was put forward, China Post has been actively contributing to the overall national development and implementing the BRI requirements for policy coordination, infrastructure connectivity, unimpeded trade, financial integration and people-to-people bond. Through building platforms and mechanisms, China Post has sped up the pace of expanding the international market, and achieved remarkable results. In terms of enhancing policy coordination, China Post has joined in multilateral cooperation frameworks such as Universal Postal Union (UPU), Asian-Pacific Postal Union (APPU) and Kahala Post Group (KPG), set up a series of bilateral cooperation mechanisms with major Belt and Road countries and forged exchange and cooperation platforms proactively. In terms of strengthening infrastructure connectivity, China Post has actively coordinated relevant authorities of the Belt and Road countries to push forward international mail transportation by rail, and accelerate the global layout of overseas warehouses. In terms of promoting unimpeded trade, China Post has actively adapted to the development of cross-border e-commerce and constantly enriched its product portfolio, thereby becoming an indispensable logistics channel in China's cross-border e-commerce market. In term of contributing to financial integration, Postal Savings Bank of China (PSBC), shouldering its duty conscientiously, has given full play to its advantages in capital, network and customers, and strengthened its capacity of serving the Belt and Road Initiative. In terms of reinforcing people-to-people bonds, China Post has made great efforts to foster closer ties with postal operators of other countries and deepen the exchanges and cooperation in business, technology, training and personnel, thus facilitating people-to-people exchanges and enhancing the emotional ties. Next, China Post will continue to study and implement Xi Jinping Thought on Socialism with Chinese Characteristics for a New Era, keep expanding connectivity, and make new contributions to the Belt and Road Initiative.
Postage stamps, often regarded as the national business card, are playing an important role in disseminating the Belt and Road Initiative. Relevant stamps issued by Belt and Road countries and regions have been carefully selected for display in the stamp exhibition. The whole exhibition is divided into three sections, namely, Inspiring Silk Road Spirit, Development of Commerce and Logistics, and Glorious Chapter of Cultural Integration, all of which tell the Belt and Road stories through stamps and present visitors with a cultural feast featuring times, knowledge and visual enjoyment. With the state-of-the-art digital technology in the exhibition, visitors can enjoy the details of stamps through the touch screen.
