On January 5th, “Year of Ox - 2021 Zodiac Stamp Exhibition” was held in China National Post and Postage Stamp Museum.

With the Year of Ox (Year of Xinchou) drawing near, China Post released a set of two special stamps and a stamp booklet with the issue number of 2021-1 on January 5th. To create a festive mood together with the first launching of the stamps, “Year of Ox - 2021 Zodiac Stamp Exhibition” was held at the same time, which was hosted by China Post Group Corporation Limited and organized by China National Post and Postage Stamp Museum.

Celebrating the Spring Festival with all zodiac stamps

Stamps are honored as “the national business card”. Since the first set of monkey stamps unveiled in 1980 (Year of Gengshen), China post has issued four rounds of 42 sets of zodiac stamps to celebrate the lunar new years in total. These zodiac stamps contain rich contents and different styles, manifesting the festive mood of the new year as well as people’s aesthetic changes in different times.

All zodiac stamps are exhibited in time sequence reviewing the history of China’s zodiac stamps from initial creation to constant innovation by both the real stamps as well as their high-definition enlarged images.

22 sets of zodiac stamps issued from 1998 (Year of Tiger) to 2019 (Year of Pig) since the return of Hong Kong to the motherland are also displayed, heightening the jubilant atmosphere of the Spring Festival. 20 sets of zodiac stamps issued from 2000 (Year of Dragon) to 2019 (Year of Dog) since the return of Macao are also exhibited, conveying rich and profound traditional Chinese culture.
