Temporary distribution center established to ensure time limit
| China Post News |2021-08-03

On the morning of July 30, with CF9116 (Xi'an-Shanghai Pudong), CF9118 (Chengdu-Shanghai Pudong) and CF9106 (Shenyang-Shanghai Pudong) landing successively at 1:45, 4:06 and 4:56 at Shanghai Pudong International Airport, the temporary distribution center which was established at Shanghai Pudong International Airport by China Post's independent aviation network officially started its operation. The above three round-trip routes are to ensure that the mail exchange in key areas would maintain the specified time limit after China Post’s aviation distribution center in Nanjing was closed temporarily.

Time limit is the first lifeline of mail. In order to ensure the EMS time limit after the temporary suspension of Nanjing Distribution Center, the Parcel, Express and Logistics Business Unit of China Post Group comprehensively sorts out the available civil aviation flight resources of the whole network, and prepares emergency shipping plans for civil aviation, high-speed rail and land transportation for provinces and mail routes accordingly. In order to further reduce the damage of COVID-19 on the time limit of express mail exchange in key areas such as Northeast, Northwest, Southwest, East China and other key areas, and to solve the problem of  insufficient capacity of the morning and evening civil flights, the above-mentioned three round-trip flight routes are actively launched based on the implementation of emergency shipping plans, and Shanghai Pudong temporary distribution center has been organized with the above-mentioned three routes and such regular direct mail flights as "Shanghai Pudong-Beijing" and "Shanghai Pudong-Guangzhou".

For the newly-organized temporary distribution center, China Postal Airlines takes the initiative to overcome the difficulty of staff shortage, continues to optimize crew arrangements, actively coordinates with the Civil Aviation Administration and local airports, and completes application for the flight schedule and ground support preparations on schedule. The operation control department carries out risk assessment and draws up operation plan immediately, and all staff in Shanghai, Chengdu, Shenyang, and Xi'an offices of China Postal Airlines give up their vocations. At the same time, the Parcel, Express and Logistics Business Unit of Jiangsu, Zhejiang, Anhui, Shanghai, Liaoning, Sichuan, Shaanxi and other provinces (municipalities) also optimizes the network at the first time and introduces supporting measures for air and land operation.

It is understood that the early one of the two flights for route "Beijing-Pudong-Guangzhou", three domestic routes "Hangzhou-Guangzhou", "Hangzhou-Daxing", "Guangzhou-Daxing", and eight international (regional) routes "Pudong-Osaka", "Pudong-Tokyo", "Yiwu-Osaka", "Zhengzhou-Tokyo", "Zhengzhou-Seoul", "Xi’an-Seoul", "Dalian-Seoul", "Kunming-Bangkok" and route "Fuzhou-Taipei" of China Post's independent aviation network are currently in normal operation.
