October 9 this year marks the 52th World Post Day, the theme of which is defined by the Universal Postal Union as “Innovate to Recover”. Liu Aili, Chairman of China Post Group Corporation Limited, said in his message on the World Post Day, from January to August this year, China Post saw its revenue and profit expand 9.37 percent and 21.94 percent respectively, both 5-year highs compared with the same period in previous years.
According to Mr. Liu Aili, over the past year, China Post has comprehensively implemented the three-year action plan for SOE reform, established sound mechanisms of corporate governance and market-based operations, piloted the system of fixed tenures and contract management. China Post has also comprehensively promoted the quality of universal postal service, vigorously improved the time limit of express and logistics business, thereby public experience of postal services has gained continuous improvement. Meanwhile, it has facilitated the strategy of rural vitalization by accelerating construction of three-tiered logistics system at village, township and county levels to shore up the logistics in rural areas.
Liu Aili said, moving forward, China Post will steadily push forward separate accounting and separate operations of universal services and competitive services, and continue to deepen reforms in express and logistics business. It will press ahead with the equal accessibility of universal postal service and public service, and make every effort to build a comprehensive platform providing multiple services including universal postal service, rural e-commerce, express and logistics as well as finance.
