Commemorative prepaid postcard issued for launch of CCTV Olympic Channel

Coinciding with the 100-day countdown to the Beijing 2022 Olympic Winter Games, the prepaid postcard to commemorate the launch of China Central Television (hereinafter referred to as CCTV) Olympic Channel was unveiled on October 26 in Beijing.

Shen Haixiong, Vice Minister of the Publicity Department of the Communist Party of China Central Committee and President and Editor-in-chief of China Media Group (hereinafter referred to as CMG), Ma Junsheng, Director-general of the State Post Bureau (hereinafter referred to as SPB), Liu Aili, Chairman of China Post Group Corporation Limited(hereinafter referred to as China Post Group), Xue Jijun, a member of the editorial board of CMG, attended the launch ceremony and unveiled the commemorative prepaid postcard.

CMG launched the CCTV Olympic Channel and its digital platform on October 25, which is a milestone in pushing forward the development of the Olympic cause in China and the world.

In honor of this important moment, China Post decided to issue the commemorative prepaid postcard officially on October 27, entitled The Launch of CCTV Olympic Channel. The postcard is a set of one piece, numbered JP264. The face value of the stamp on the postcard is 0.8 yuan and the price is 1.2 yuan.

Xue Jijun said in his message, CMG together with SPB and China Post Group will continue to leverage respective strengths, aiming at more and greater outcomes of partnership in such fields as content creation, product research & development, network transmission, public service and so on, carrying forward the Olympic spirit and Chinese sportsmanship, writing a flourishing chapter for socialist cultural development.

As an Olympic diving champion, He Chong said in his speech at the launch ceremony that he hoped the launch of the Olympic Channel and its digital platform as well as the issue of the commemorative prepaid postcard could make people continuously recall and feel the Olympics so as to be connected more closely.

To date, China Post has issued seven sets of 20 stamps (miniature sheet) for Beijing 2022 Winter Olympics featuring the emblem, the mascots, snow sports, ice sports and competition venues, etc.
