From February 2 to 4, about 1200 torchbearers from all walks of life took part in the Beijing 2022 torch relay in the three competition zones of Beijing, Yanqing and Zhangjiakou. Five of them are from China Post, Guo Enjuan, Wang Xiaohui, Kang Zhi, Liu Jia and Chime Dorjee. Coming from different posts, they shouldered the mission of passing on the torch and spreading the Olympic spirit, which demonstrated high morale of postal employees to cheer for and add luster to the Beijing Winter Olympics.

At the Beijing Olympic Forest Park, the 114th torchbearer of the relay was Guo Enjuan, member of the Party committee and general manager of the quality management department of Beijing Stamp Printing House Company Limited. For over twenty years, she has kept up with the cutting edge of development of plate making and printing technologies and successfully implemented a dozen technical innovations. Her technological upgrading team has created landmark sets of stamps in the history of Chinese stamps. She successively won several honorary titles such as "National Model Worker" and so on, and was honorably elected delegate to the 19th National Congress of the Communist Party of China.

At the Beijing Winter Olympic Park, the 229th torchbearer of the relay was Wang Xiaohui, commander of NO.1 squadron of Boeing 737 of China Postal Airlines. He has implemented aviation safety regulations and achieved a total of 11, 000 flight hours. After the outbreak of the COVID-19 pandemic, he was the first to take the initiative to join the fight to deliver anti-epidemic supplies and worked in places including Beijing, Wuhan and Nanjing for more than fifty consecutive days, having made outstanding contributions to the full resumption of work and production and the victory against COVID-19. He successively won such national level honorary tittles as “National Civil Aviation Youth May 4th Medal” and “National Model Worker of Transportation Industry in Fighting the COVID-19 Epidemic”.

At the Badaling section of the Great Wall in Yanqing district, was Kang Zhi, the 13th torchbearer, deputy postmaster of Beijing Haidian Branch Qsinghua University Post Office. Since beginning to work, he has been rooted in the production line. Ten years’ striving and accumulation of experience shaped him a skilled postal employee with comprehensive abilities and professional excellence. A total of 280,000 pieces of mail has been delivered by him in 10 years without any errors. He successively won the tittles of “Outstanding Party Member” and “The 20th National Youth Post Expert” of China Post Group Co., Ltd.

At the Zhangjiakou’s Yangyuan Nihewan Ruins Park, the 37th torchbearer of the relay was Liu Jia, manager of Operation and Maintenance Department of Information Technology Center of Hebei Postal Branch. He has been engaged in operation and maintenance of postal information network over the long term, and innovatively invented the “0D1 working method”. He proactively took the lead in staying on his post amid the SARS epidemic and COVID-19 pandemic, having successively won the honors including "Model Individual of China Post in Fighting COVID-19" and "Hebei Provincial May 1st Labor Medal".

At the Summer Palace in Beijing, the 15th torchbearer of the relay was Chime Dorjee, long-distance mail truck driver and head of transport escort group of Sichuan Ganzi Postal Branch. For over thirty years, he has been committed to delivering mails on the “Snow Line Mail Route”, which has an average altitude of 3,500 meters. He has traveled a total distance of more than 1.4 million kilometers with no accidents ever occurring, being praised by people as the "Happiness Messenger on the Snow Line Mail Route" for positive contributions to the economic and social development of the Tibetan region. He was successively awarded “Good Person of China” in the dedication and commitment category by the Central Guidance Commission for Building Spiritual Civilization, “Role Model of the Times” by the Publicity Department of the CPC Central Committee, “Figure Touching China in the Year 2018”, and “Outstanding Party Member”, etc.

Participating in the torch relay event of the Beijing Winter Olympics represents a supreme honor. The five postal employees were extremely excited, feeling both proud and thrilled. They were grateful for this great era from their hearts, and even more deeply proud of the strong motherland. They all said, by participating in the Beijing 2022 torch relay and seeing the high-tech torch and torch relay method, they wholeheartedly felt strength of the motherland. They expressed thanks to the company for careful cultivation and providing them a stage for their growth. As a postal employee in the new era, they will take the initiative to practice the principle "China Post, by the people for the people”, work in accordance with the Olympic motto "Faster, Higher, Stronger - Together" and contribute to the high-quality development of China Post through concrete actions.
