At 20:14 on April 19, a fully-loaded all-cargo flight took off from Changsha Huanghua International Airport and flew to Mexico City, Mexico. This marks the successful launch of “Changsha - Mexico City” intercontinental air cargo route, which focuses on business of international mail, international express and cross-border e-commerce.

This air route is jointly operated by Hunan Logistics Company and Hunan Yuanrun Air Cargo Co. Ltd. with three to six flights per week according to plan. It is reported that the outbound cargoes carried by the maiden flight mainly include parcels, epidemic prevention materials and cross-border e-commerce items. 

The opening of this cross-border air cargo route effectively expands the aviation logistics channel of Changsha Huanghua International Airport, which will move advanced manufacturing industry in Hunan Province up to the high end of the value chain and attract cross-border e-commerce industries in South China to converge on Changsha. Meanwhile, the continuous expansion of the international air freight network of Changsha Huanghua International Airport is conducive to fully exerting the synergistic effect of the significant open platforms such as China (Hunan) Pilot Free Trade Zone, Changsha International Airport Economic Zone, Changsha Cross-border E-commerce Comprehensive Pilot Zone and the integrated Customs clearance for international mail, international express, and cross-border e-commerce services. It will strengthen the competitive edge of Changsha Huanghua International Airport in international supply chain and give a boost to Changsha in building itself into the hub of reform and opening up in China’s inland regions.
