China Post is to issue a commemorative stamp entitled The 120th anniversary of Southeast University on June 6, the day when the celebration is held.

This set of one commemorative stamp is designed by Yu Qiuyan. The stamp image takes the hand-painted architectural drawing of the early auditorium of Southeast University (hereinafter referred to as SEU) as the core element, under which are an open book and the university’s founding time, implying that this prestigious university has been committed to nurturing talents for 120 years. Together with the coordinately arranged background elements such as the logo of SEU, its emblem, the anniversary logo of "120", and the university motto, the overall picture is rigorous in structure, and sober and stately in tone, which highlights SEU’s long history and profound heritage.

This set of stamp is engraved by Xu Zhe, and printed by Beijing Stamp Printing House Company Limited with offset intaglio technology. The laser carving lines enhance the 3D effect of the main architecture. The special UV gold ink makes the picture shine with metallic luster, and the yellow, red and blue fluorescent inks make the university emblem and the anniversary logo become vivid and glittering under ultraviolet lights.

Southeast University, located in Nanjing, Jiangsu, is a prestigious institution of higher learning renowned both at home and abroad. As one of the national key universities directly subordinate to the Ministry of Education of China and jointly established with Jiangsu Province, it is also listed as one of the universities involved in National “985 Project” “211 Project”.

In order to present more information about the stamp, China Post will release its digital contents through the WeChat mini program “Encyclopedia of China Philately and Stamps”, where philatelists can learn more about the stamp via its AR function.
