On June 24, the international mail and express control center (hereinafter referred to as the Center) of Liaoning Postal Branch located in Sujiatun district of Shenyang, Liaoning province passed the acceptance check of Shenyang Customs District of the People’s Republic of China. This is of major significance in facilitating customs clearance of international mail and express in Liaoning, enhancing the development of foreign trade and cross-border e-commerce, and better serving the Belt and Road Initiative, and marks that the comprehensive service capacity of international parcel, express and logistics business of Liaoning Postal Branch has reached a new level.

The Center, covering an area of 8,000 square meters, is the only customs control mail processing facility in Northeast China with integrated customs clearance function. It is equipped with 4 automatic inspection and sorting lines to process international mail, international express and cross-border e-commerce items. As a result, multi-modal operations can be performed simultaneously on the same site, eliminating the physical barriers of business categories, and greatly improving the efficiency of customs clearance.

It is reported that after the new facility is put into use, its average daily processing capacity can reach up to 50,000 pieces of mail, with multiple operation modes covering inbound and outbound international mail, international express and cross-border e-commerce. This helps to develop a cross-border e-commerce comprehensive service platform which integrates customs clearance and distribution with postal service as the mainstay, so as to contribute to the high-level development of export-oriented economy of Liaoning province.
