On July 28, the launch ceremony of China-Europe postal block train "Jiangsu Express" was held in Nanjing, Jiangsu. In the early morning of July 29, the train, carrying containers fully loaded with automobile parts, clothing, pipe fittings and other made-in-Jiangsu goods which were organized by Jiangsu Postal Branch, set out from Nanjing and will arrive in Moscow, the capital of Russia, 20 days later. The launch of China-Europe postal block train "Jiangsu Express" marks that Jiangsu Postal Branch has reached a new level in expanding international postal transport channels and improving its capabilities of cross-border e-commerce delivery service.

Since the outbreak of COVID-19 in 2020, international logistics and transportation have been facing many challenges. Under the background of insufficient air cargo space and lacking shipping containers, the advantages of China-Europe block trains become prominent. They are more reliable in schedules, lower in freight rates, and more convenient especially in transporting items such as cosmetics and 3C electronic products that are prohibited in air freight. To facilitate mail transport, Jiangsu Postal Branch signed a strategic cooperation agreement with Jiangsu International Rail Freight Express Co. Ltd. in November 2021. In the first half of this year, Jiangsu Postal Branch arranged to identify enterprises in Jiangsu with Europe-bound export demands, and established an international multimodal transport system of sea, land and air to meet their demands. Hence the launch of China-Europe postal block train "Jiangsu Express". This route can not only help foreign trade enterprises transport goods of more varieties, but also reduce their transportation costs and risks in customs clearance, and ensure the stability of transportation.

Jiangsu Postal Branch will continue to deepen the cooperation with Jiangsu International Rail Freight Express Co. Ltd. Relying on China-Europe block trains, it will continuously optimize and smooth new channels for express delivery enterprises to go global, and establish a multimodal transport logistics network system based on the block trains to better serve the national strategies such as the Belt and Road Initiative and the new economic development pattern of "dual circulation", and help Jiangsu develop a new highland of opening up.
