On October 28, a container loaded with mail bags testing the return trip mail transport via the China-Europe freight train (Chongqing-Xinjiang-Europe railway) from Duisburg, Germany, arrived at Chongqing Railway Port Mail Center. It is not only the first of its kind with full container load of test mail bags but also the first one that has traversed the Caspian Sea and the Black Sea back to China.

The container carried altogether 210 inbound international mail items, with a total weight of 1674.1 kilograms, containing food, clothing, small appliances and other articles. The return trip passed through Austria, Hungary, Romania, Georgia, Azerbaijan and Kazakhstan, and crossed the Black Sea and the Caspian Sea, covering a distance of about 11,000 kilometers. With successful sea-rail combined transportation, this test has positive significance for facilitating Chongqing Postal Branch to build an international railway hub for cargo and mail transport.
