On December 1, Changsha-Bournemouth (UK) intercontinental air cargo route officially opened for international mail, international express and cross-border e-commerce services, which has further promoted the development of air cargo and air mail services in Hunan, broadened the international route of Changsha and established an “air bridge” between Changsha and the UK.
The Changsha-Bournemouth (UK) intercontinental air cargo route for international mail service, international express service and cross-border e-commerce, jointly opened by China Post Group Hunan Postal Logistics Company and China Post Group Hunan International Business Company, can provide three express service options including door to door, port to port and door to port transportation based on customers' business needs, thus changing the traditional way through which the parcels local customers sent to Britain had to be transited via coastal regions. This newly-opened air route can effectively expand the aviation logistics channels of Changsha Huanghua International Airport, facilitate the advanced manufacturing industry in Hunan Province to extend to the high end of the value chain, and attract cross-border e-commerce businesses in South China to Changsha.
The Changsha-Bournemouth (UK) intercontinental air cargo route is scheduled to operate three flights a week, with a payload of 85 tons and a monthly international air cargo and mail handling capacity of more than 1,000 tons. The continuous expansion of the international air cargo network of Changsha Huanghua International Airport is conducive to fully exerting the synergistic effect of the major open platforms such as China (Hunan) Pilot Free Trade Zone, Changsha International Airport Economic Zone, Changsha Cross-border E-commerce Comprehensive Pilot Zone and the integrated Customs clearance for international mail, international express, and cross-border e-commerce services. It will also help strengthen the competitive edge of Changsha Huanghua International Airport in international supply chain and give a boost to Changsha in building itself into the hub of reform and opening up in China’s inland regions.
