Recently, the Postal Savings Bank of China (hereinafter referred to as PSBC) was invited to the 2022 International Green Finance Summit・Dianchi Forum and delivered a speech on developing green finance to facilitate green and low-carbon transition.
Acting on the belief that lucid waters and lush mountains are invaluable assets, PSBC has been developing green finance vigorously. It has proposed to press ahead with corporate governance, innovation-driven development, incentives and constraints, risk management, cooperation and exchange in a coordinated manner to promote the sound and fast development of green finance in the future, hence better serving the green, low-carbon and high-quality development of the economy and society. Moreover, PSBC will further develop sustainable and green finance as well as climate financing.
Data show that the green loan balance of PSBC had reached 465.771 billion yuan (about 67.63 billion US dollars) by the end of Q3 in 2022, a year-on-year increase of 34.33 percent. In recent years, PSBC has been awarded the title of Exemplary Unit in Green Banking Overall Evaluation by China Banking Association successively, A in MSCI’s ESG Ratings for two consecutive years, Outstanding Leadership in Green Loans in Asia-Pacific Region by Global Finance, and Outstanding ESG Practice Case of Public Companies by the China Association for Public Companies.
The summit, jointly organized by the Kunming Municipal Government and the Green Finance Forum of 60, invited representatives from regulatory authorities, financial institutions and industry-leading enterprises, experts and scholars to discuss new opportunities for green finance and new achievements in ecological conservation.
